Published Stories

These links are  for stories that appear on the web in various ezines.  I wrote them.  Most of them are very short because, beginning in 1997 I wrote for the web/internet – people didn’t read anything long – they skimmed.  As of right now – there are about 25 short stories that aren’t published.

Caught in a Trap

Caught in a Trap” appeared in Absent Willow Review on April 16, 2011.  It is a “monster” story about a woman whose husband never returned from a business trip. Not content to let it go, she searches for him.  Her efforts are not in the story.  This story is about what she does when she finds him.

One Soldier’s Reason

This story is about one soldier’s frame of mind.  I had also written a non-science fiction version of this story, but it is not the setting that is important – the person is important.  An unpublished story is called “One Cost of War” – and it gets into a soldier’s psyche after a terrible experience.  I figured I would fit “One” into the titles of stories that focus on soldiers.

Faceless

This is a story that is part science fiction, part horror, and part fantasy.  It is about a woman who finds herself in an unusual situation and how she copes.  There is a gun, maybe two, some violence, lots of imagination and a piece of my own dream.

Instant Message

This was my first published short story and now I have it on my own site.  I should do that with some of the others, too.  This story takes place just before “Beauty Wears a Gun,” which I’ll mention later.  It is written with a sense of humor and is part of the “revenge” cycle of stories.

Beauty Wears a Gun

After you click on the link, you have to scroll.   This story is another of my early works, part of the “revenge” cycle, written with a sense of humor.  Rachel wears a gun, enters Emo’s, and Oscar is along for the ride.

Androids in the Garden

When I wrote this story, I was concerned that I did not “describe” things very well.  Just in case you are worried, there is action, too – a marshal, a deputy, at least two six-guns, and a bad guy.
