About
My name is Terry. I live near the Lloyd District and go for walks. Everyone needs exercise, right? Well, I really need exercise. I’ve gained a lot of weight over the last year. I need to keep busy.
Now that the site is going, I need people to link to LloydDistrict.com. If you own your own site, that’s great – link to me from there. Anyone can set up a Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter account or other social media. Link from there. I need people to link from anywhere on the World Wide Web. Anywhere.
LloydDistrict.com should contain articles and pictures that interest visitors, so write in with suggestions. Suggest your company, your self, something humorous you saw in Portland or in the Lloyd District, or things that you think people should know. Then I’ll have a target, a place to go, a person to meet – and it will show up on LloydDistrict.com.
Don’t forget to link.
When I started this blog, I really didn’t have much to do except try to become a published author. I thought that would happen by now (and it didn’t). In 1997, I started RealEstateABC.com (sold it) and since I need to make a living, I will focus on getting things going with HomeSurfer.com (and related web sites).
But I still need to go for walks. Make suggestions and link!
Officially, the borders of the Lloyd District are:
The river on the west, 84 freeway in the south, Broadway in the north, and as it winds through – 15th and 16th on the east. However…
…I was in U. S. Bank the other day and asked the person waiting on me if she was in the Lloyd District. “Of course,” she replied. Just outside the window was a street sign that said we were in “Historic Sullivan’s Gulch.”
Those that live, work, shop, eat in the Lloyd District are subjective and may not agree with one another. If I like it, I’ll write about it. I’m certainly not official. I wanted a sub sandwich from Subway and Subway is on the north side of Broadway. Is that side of Broadway in the Lloyd District or the Irvington District? That isn’t important to most people. When I shop at Fred Meyer to purchase Lawry’s Fajita Mix, I don’t care if it isn’t officially in the Lloyd district. The same thing applied when my cat had fleas and I went to Pets on Broadway.
What do I want? I think I want a site that will include information about the Lloyd District, feature short fiction from authors in the Portland area, and discuss some health issues.
Sometimes I might whip out my camera, but other times I won’t. I’ll almost always have a big goatee and a bald head.
